Recently, Bejing High-level Autonomous Driving Demonstration Zone in Beijing has issued a notification letters for the demonstration of carrying passengers on highways to Baidu, Xiaoma Zhixing, AutoX Antu, and Wenyuan Zhixing. The four companies' intelligent connected passenger cars are permitted to conduct passenger shuttles between Beijing Economic and Technological Development Zone and Beijing Daxing International Airport Terminal, marking the world's first capital city airport automatic driving shuttle passenger demonstration scene that is officially open. The high-speed scenario in this route is approximately 40 kilometers, and the vehicles can automatically perform a series of actions including navigating through ramps and passing through highway toll stations.

As the distance covered by autonomous driving vehicles continues to increase and the application scenarios become more diverse, it also signifies the continuous implementation of the achievements of the expansion of Zone 3.0 in this demonstration area. In 2024, the demonstration area plans to further expand by 440 square kilometers on the basis of the already achieved coverage of 160 square kilometers of intelligent connected roads and the smart city special network. With the expansion of the pilot area, the range of operation for autonomous driving application scenarios will be expanded, and efforts will be continuously made to promote the testing scenarios of highways and urban expressways. Additionally, further planning will be carried out to promote the opening of "Five Stations and Two Airports" shuttle scenarios at Beijing South Station, Chaoyang Station, Fengtai Station, Qinghe Station, and the city sub-center station, as well as Daxing Airport and Capital Airport, to promote the landing of technological scale.
