The National Energy Administration released the "2025 Energy Work Guidance".

Recently, the National Energy Administration has issued the "2025 Energy Work Guidance", proposing to accelerate the promotion of energy technology self-reliance and strength, continuously improve the energy technology innovation system, strengthen the key core technology research and development, and cultivate and develop new energy industries and new formats

The "Guidance" has nine key contents: to enhance the energy security guarantee capability, to promote green and low-carbon transformation, to deepen the reform of energy and utilization methods, to improve the energy system and mechanism, to strengthen energy technology innovation, to improve the service level of people's energy use, to strengthen energy supervision and order, to deepen international energy cooperation, and to coordinate the advancement of energy planning and implementation.

Among them, it is particularly mentioned that the replacement of renewable energy industrial, transportation and other fields should be promoted, the charging infrastructure should be improved, and the development of energy storage technology should be promoted.

Brazil has completed the feasibility study for the world's first HyperPort.

Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HyperloopTT) has completed the world’s first HyperPort feasibility study in Brazil. The study was carried out partnership with the Brazilian port logistics company EGA Group and LabTrans from the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC).

The study represents a major breakthrough in research, as it is the first to assess the feasibility of Hyperloop technology in large-scale logistics operations, including: (1) Super High-Speed Railways connecting ports to cities, i.e., the 549-kilometer Hyperloop connecting the Port of Santos to the main cities of São Paulo, passing through Campinas andão José do Rio Preto, among others; (2) a bi-directional transportation system supported by Hyperloop, transporting 5,600 standard containers per day at a speed of 600 km/h, reducing the transportation time from hours or days to minutes; it can expand to meet future demands while reducing carbon emissions and and optimizing logistics through virtually coupled capsules. The feasibility study has not only demonstrated the technical and economic viability of Hyperloop in Brazil but has also laid the foundation for the future of logistics infrastructure, much-needed innovation and efficiency to container transportation.

The World Bank released the Planning Guide for Public Transit-Oriented Development of Emerging Cities

In October 2024, the World Bank released a research report titled "Public Transit-Oriented Development Planning for Emerging Cities, emphasizing the importance of integrating land-use regulations with transportation planning. By coordinating these two elements, cities can promote higher densities, mixed land uses, and pedestrian-friendly environments, are essential for an effective public transportation system.

The report highlights that Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) promotes high-density urban growth by organically integrating residential, commercial, recreational spaces with public transportation systems, reducing reliance on private vehicles, and lowering traffic congestion and pollution levels, thereby enhancing the quality of life for urban residents. The TOD development model for mixed-use development, ensuring that residents can meet their basic needs within walking distance, while also improving the city's accessibility and social inclusiveness.

The report emphasizes many emerging cities in developing countries, despite their advantages in population density and public transportation travel patterns, often fall into inefficient development traps due to a disconnect between transportation and land-use planning Through the TOD model, these cities can attract investment, create employment opportunities, promote economic activity, and improve environmental and social equity.

【1】New York City's congestion pricing plan, which began on January 5th of this year, has shown signs of success after one month. Data shows that the number of vehicles entering the Manhattan toll area has decreased by about one million, with a significant reduction in traffic volume, faster bus service, and an increase inuters. The fee standard is $9 for cars using E-ZPass during peak hours, $2.25 at night, and commercial vehicles are charged more.

【2】Jet Systems and Volocopter have signed a long-term agreement to launch electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) air services in France. According to the agreement, the first two VoloCity eVTOLs will be delivered after obtaining certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Volocopter will provide professional services such as maintenance, pilot training, and a digital platform for fleet management and operations, while Jet Systems will be responsible for ground crew, pilot, and maintenance personnel scheduling coordinating operations with urban and infrastructure partners.
