The Annual meeting and 10th Anniversary Meeting of China ITS industry alliance were successfully held in Beijing on March 21, 2024. More than 230 alliance members from the intelligent transportation industry attended the meeting, including Tsinghua University, Ministry of Highway Engineering, China Classification Society, Qingdao Hisense, Beihang University, Tongji University, China Academy of Information and Communications Technology, Huawei, ZTE, China Mobile, China Unicom, Shanghai Motor Vehicle Testing Center, China Automotive Research Institute, Four Dimensional Tuxin, Gaode, BMW, Volkswagen, Beijing Automotive, Changan Automobile, Tencent, Baidu, Alibaba, and others.
To meet the major needs of the country and focus on research directions such as transportation digitization, control intelligence, and integration of vehicles, roads, and clouds, with the approval of the Ministry of Transport, the alliance's chairman unit, the Highway Institute of the Ministry of Transport, and the director unit, Beihang, jointly established the National Key Laboratory of Vehicle Road Integrated Intelligent Transportation. Vice President of the Research Institute of Highway, Mr. LI Bin, gave a detailed introduction to the background, operating mechanism, and target positioning of the National Heavy Industry Laboratory, and invited alliance members to participate in the laboratory's construction.
With the development and application of the new generation of innovative technologies, in order to solve traffic congestion and improve traffic efficiency, based on technologies such as big data, machine learning, and artificial intelligence, the industry has begun to construct and practice big models for the transportation industry. Director Zhang Aomuhan from Baidu Zhixing gave a keynote speech on "Exploration and Practice of Big Models for the Transportation Industry", focusing on the application, industry value, and future development trends of big models in the transportation industry.
The European Commission will deploy key actions in the field of intelligent transportation to achieve sustainable and modern transportation systems in the EU, and set several development goals based on the field of intelligent transportation. Dr. Xu Bin, Director of the EU Standardization Expert Project in China, gave a keynote presentation on the "EU Green Agreement and Related Regulations and Standards in the Transportation Sector". He provided a detailed introduction on the EU's green new policy, battery law, green transformation, carbon emissions, carbon taxation, and other content, providing rich experience for the low-carbon development of green transportation in the domestic intelligent transportation field.
The rapid development of artificial intelligence has led to the transition of autonomous driving from rule driven to data-driven. The intelligent development route of individual vehicle is facing the "long tail problem" limitation in the L4 level and large-scale implementation. If the integration of human vehicle road intelligence can better utilize vehicle road collaborative data, achieve massive data closed-loop, improve autonomous driving safety, promote innovative practice and widespread application of intelligent connected vehicles, this is a problem worth exploring. Professor Wang Jianqiang, Dean of the School of Vehicle and Transportation at Tsinghua University, gave a keynote speech on "Intelligent Integration of Human Vehicle Road: Building a New Intelligent Connected Ecology" and provided a detailed introduction.
As a pilot demonstration unit of the Ministry of Transport and the National Standardization Administration, the alliance actively promotes the research and development of group standards in the field of transportation, and has achieved fruitful results. At the meeting, WANG Qi, a researcher from the Ministry of Science and Technology, WANG Xiaojing, Chairman of the Alliance, and YANG Yongyao, Vice Chairman of the Alliance, presented honorary certificates to individuals and units who have won the Alliance's Excellent Individual Award and Excellent Standard Award.
Finally, the chairman of the alliance, WANGXiaojing, gave a concluding speech on the alliance's ten-year work, focusing on the achievements of standardization, industrialization, domestic and international cooperation and exchange in serving ministries, industries, and members. He also conducted an in-depth analysis of the trends in the development of intelligent transportation in China and abroad.
